Mount Robson Provincial Park
is located in east central British Columbia near the Alberta border, 3.5 hours east of Prince George BC or 5 hours west of Edmonton AB. The park covers 2170 sq km and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1990. It is the second oldest park in BC and the largest provincial park in the Canadian Rockies. Wildlife abounds here. Deer, moose, elk and black bear at lower elevations and grizzly bear, mountain sheep, mountain goat and caribou at higher elevations. 42 species of mammals and more than 182 bird species call the park home. The park also protects the headwaters of the Fraser River as it starts its long journey south through BC to the Pacific Ocean. The Berg glacier in the park’s north west is known for being one of the few advancing glaciers in the Canadian Rockies.
While in this park, dogs must be on leash and are not allowed on beaches or in park buildings.
